A conference titled “The Impact of the Pandemic on the Private Sector in Nakhchivan and Related Proposals and Discussions” was held by the Nakhchivan Confederation of Entrepreneurs.

The event, attended by entrepreneurs, took place at the Nakhchivan Business Center. Vugar Abbasov, the Chairman of the Confederation, stated that the main goal is to establish a voluntary alliance of entrepreneurs around a unified confederation to support them in market competition and enhance business activity.

Vugar Abbasov also discussed new facilities that began operations in 2020, noting that this year, 63 production and service facilities have been established in various sectors of economic activity with government support and private investment. As a result of these efforts, production enterprises operating in the autonomous republic not only meet the consumption needs of the population but also contribute to expanding export potential.

The Chairman mentioned that one of the key concerns for entrepreneurs in the current situation is the study and evaluation of market opportunities, for which the confederation provides various forms of assistance. During the pandemic, the confederation has been working closely with government agencies and international organizations to protect the rights of entrepreneurs and help them make the most of the available conditions.

In discussions surrounding the report, Xudakarim Mammadov, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, provided information on the support given to entrepreneurship by the ministry. Turgut Abbasov, Head of a Department at the State Customs Committee, detailed the assistance provided to entrepreneurs regarding customs duties. Following this, the challenges faced by entrepreneurs during the pandemic were discussed, and mutual discussions were held.
