On April 6, a meeting was held at the Nakhchivan Main Customs Department with members of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s Confederation of Entrepreneurs, foreign trade participants, and customs representatives.
Vugar Aliyev, the head of the Nakhchivan Main Customs Department and a customs service general-major, provided information about recent improvements in the customs system and the innovations implemented. He noted that the risk-based automated management system for customs control, the acceleration of the border crossing processes for goods and vehicles, the creation of favorable conditions for those who voluntarily comply with customs regulations, and the reduction of the face-to-face interactions between officials and citizens have created significant opportunities to stimulate foreign trade activities.
Vugar Abbasov, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s Confederation of Entrepreneurs, highlighted that the recent reforms aimed at improving the service level and quality of the customs system have positively impacted the activities of the private sector.
The meeting also included information on the “Customs DEVELOPMENT Model,” the “Smart-Bot” mobile application, as well as ongoing and planned projects.
At the end of the meeting, the suggestions and opinions of the entrepreneurs were heard, and their questions were answered.
