A Meeting with the Participation of Azerbaijani and Turkish Entrepreneurs

An online meeting was held with the members of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry regarding the current situation in Azerbaijan. The meeting began with a speech by Öztürk Oran, Co-Chair of the Chamber and a member of the Board of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. He stated that they condemn the aggressive attacks on Azerbaijan by Armenian military units that began on September 27, 2020, and express solidarity with our Azerbaijani brothers. As the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, we have expressed our stance on these events from the very first day and are closely monitoring the developments in Azerbaijan as Co-Chair of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It was emphasized that we strongly condemn the Armenian forces, which have been occupying Azerbaijani lands for years, for now targeting civilian settlements without regard to international legal norms and principles. Azerbaijan is currently defending its territorial integrity. The Nagorno-Karabakh region and its surrounding areas have been under occupation for nearly 30 years. We call upon international organizations responsible for resolving the conflict to ensure the implementation of UN resolutions for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. It was also highlighted that Turkey and Azerbaijan are not only friends and allies but also brotherly countries. In line with the principle of “one nation, two states,” we stand with Azerbaijan to the end. We pray for mercy for our martyrs in Azerbaijan and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

Vüqar Abbasov, Co-Chair of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated that today, under the decisive leadership and political will of President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani army is giving a worthy response to the enemy on the battlefield, and we will soon reclaim our occupied territories. Azerbaijani entrepreneurs are also standing by our army, and everyone is supporting it as much as possible. We are very proud of the participation of Turkish businessmen in this meeting to support Azerbaijan, and we thank you for that. He also mentioned that after the liberation of our occupied lands, we will establish new companies and create jobs in those areas together with Turkish businessmen, contributing equally to the economic development of the region. Turkish entrepreneurs participating in the online meeting stated that these treacherous attacks on Azerbaijan are crimes against humanity, condemned them, and expressed their continued support for Azerbaijan. They also expressed their intention to contribute to the beginning of a new life in the liberated regions.

Azerbaijani entrepreneurs who spoke at the event provided information about the ongoing events in our country and expressed their gratitude to their Turkish colleagues for supporting Azerbaijan in this just cause. The online event included excerpts from social media posts by Turkish entrepreneurs demonstrating support for Azerbaijan, as well as images of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey building draped in the colors of our national flag.
